It is funny that Sting is doing *better* than Stockfish, even though SF is much stronger than Sting.

Go team Sting!

Matthew, note that Sting is able to reach 26 or more depth in midle-game!
Except the game with Houdini, a pity.
It makes that Sting can be a very challenging opponent.
I hope the version 3 can give a 50 (or more) ELO points and the problem, that SF is much stronger, will go away.
Maybe, I can't be friendly, but let me be useful.

definitely a bug ! Should be easy to trace. Maybe hidden when Elo values are defined.
My engine was quite strong till I added knowledge to it.

Yes, because I didn't enter Elo values for each engine. I just entered them in order of strength from the top down when setting up the tourney.

I don't know if SF is *much* stronger than Sting. Only playing hundreds of blitz games would give us the answer, but I doubt the result would be several hundreds of elo points. Maybe Sting's author has conducted such tests ?

But the fact that Sting is ahead of SF 0.5 points after 4 games is merely statistical noise. No conclusion can be drawn from that. Also: have they played the same opponents in the same position with the same color in the 4 games ? (another source of statistical noise when one looks at truncated results)
Theory and practice sometimes clash. And when that happens, theory loses. Every single time.

Stokfish is 5º already with 3 points like Sting,
maybe next fight match ...

It's nice that an author is ambitious (Marek in this case),
but the truth is that higher ratings are very expensive ....

Take this opportunity to congratulate Graham, :D

I'm almost continuously connected, but my poor English ...
Thanks, Graham.

The power company does well out of my household.
By turning the hot water off at night, plus switching off various appliances at the wall, we manage to keep the power bill down to about $350 NZ each month.
Still expensive, but at least my hobby keeps me at home!
