A number of people who program as a hobby appear to have taken the view that it is not sensible to pretend that the engine does not exist because of its unclear status and have therefore had a look at it.

Those programmers who rely on engine sales for an income may feel that their livelihoods are a little less secure as a consequence and I would be surprised if all of those people can afford the luxury of pretending that it does not exist on the basis of unclear status.

The end-users are another category of people faced with the question of how to respond to the problem. From the discussions here, it seems that they take home a little candy whichever option they choose.
This is all very superficially viewed.

The ball is where? In our community court. And what are we doing? We demonstrate that we enjoy mafia like practices. I would have expected that thieves and anonymous evil-doers are not enjoyed but ignored. Exactly what Vas had hoped for. But CCC is different.

For me this isnt just "my" differing opinion but the only acceptable scientifical perception. Just only describing on the surface is pure positivism with the disadvantage that you cant seperate crimes from decent activities.

Vas took us for a ride. He presented a tale and we fell into his trap. Yes, we enjoy indecent behavior. Here Bob cant save that by just claiming that existed always and the best is to ignore it. But he does the opposite Bob doesnt ignore the illegal clones. Of course if it had Crafty code - THEN this were something else.

I have no idea why you think Vas is doing nothing. He sure wont tell us here what he has planned. Just an idea. He stopped selling Rybka what will increase his business damages.

Unfortunately the perpredators will pay the price but in secrecy. Vas wont make a party either. So, we wont even be informed that they pay or are arrested in a mental hospital.

Sometimes I have impression that you and Terry have exchanged your identities.

As usual, you didn’t listen because you were too busy shouting. I touched on the instinct to shout in the post to which you replied:
