Of course, he got to that point with an imbalance. Nepo was probably wrong to offer that with ...Rc8 allowing 2 rooks for the Queen. Imbalances are often key to Carlsen outplaying someone - which is why I liked game 1 so much. Chess isn't accounting.

I've said Carlsen is an alchemist - give him the least little bit of something (can I coin that phrase?) and he will find ways to push and sometimes punish his opponents. On some days only Carlsen can beat Carlsen (going too far); but he is a master of the 'fine art of brinksmanship' in tempting the fates.

I believe that GM Nepo worse move was 130.........Qe6? since 130.......Qb1 or Qc2 would have been better making the game last up to move 145 or longer

Thanks for getting the 7 men tablebases, therefore, this game could have lasted up to more than 175 moves making the record harder to break in the future, since Carlsen was not going to accept the draw until GM Nepo demonstrated to him if he has chosen one of those two moves. But again the top 10 GM's are only super human players NOT engines with 7 men tablebases.

Even top engines without tablebases can draw this game

I believe that GM Nepo worse move was 130.........Qe6? since 130.......Qb1 or Qc2 would have been better making the game last up to move 145 or longer
Only because his position had deteriorated so much by that point.

Nepo had several inaccuracies long before this which helped propel the game to this point. Magnus made some as well. But chess is a game of mistakes and Magnus is good at managing his risk all the while seeking to induce positions into his games in which his opponents might go wrong in.

Sesse 200 cores show in 33. +3,93. Totally unnecessary this is 1 core SF:

Analysis by Stockfish 14.1:

...
33.Rcc2 Ba1 34.Nf4 Qa6 35.Nxh5+ Kh6 36.Nf4 Qb7 37.Rd8 f5 38.Rcd2 Qe4 39.Nh3 Bf6 40.Rc8 Qb7 41.Rdc2 Be5 42.Ng5 Kg7 43.R2c5 Qd7 44.Kg2 Bd6 45.R5c6 Be5 46.Nf3 Qd5 47.Rc5 Qb7 48.R5c6 Bb2 49.R8c7 Qa8 50.Ng5 Kg6 51.Nxf7 Bxa3
+- (3.57) Depth: 36/61 00:01:41 139mN, tb=8573

BTW which engine is used in CB live analysis? It shows 0,00. I mean engine You can start in CB live games. I guess non-NNUE.

I let Stockfish 14 play it out without the use of EGTB until the first move here it is, the correct drawing move and Komodo Dragon 2.5.1 chose 130....Qb1 !. The strange thing is that in the commentary GM Anand said that the e6 pawn move has to be stopped and Caruana as well

How is possible that Nepo is there???

GM Fabiano Caruana (that's Italian, too ) deserved to be THE challenger!

Even a club player would not play 21. ...b5
