Hello Mr Banks
35. Rc7 Qd8 at first I thought Qd8 was not possible because of Rxb8 but I forgot black could recapture with the knight
But we get this position: [d]Rb1qr1k1/2Rn2pp/1p1r4/1QpNp3/2P1P3/7P/3N1PP1/6K1 w - -
and maybe there is some hidden tactic there but maybe the simple Rc6 is enough.
35. Rc7 Bxc7 (Qxc7 just loses to Nxc7 and black has no chance of taking the knight in d2 because the rook in e8 is attacked and if Bxc7 RxR.) 36. Rxc8) 36. Rxc8 (The in between move Rxd5 fails to Rxe8+)Rxc8 37. Ne7+ winning the rook.
IF BL plays Qd8 next i see a solid plan in bringing our D2 Knight into play with either Nf3 or Nf1
once the Night gets into the frey Blacks position will collapse quickly
probably f1-e3-g4 if allowed and then depending on BL's reponses to swing the Q over to the Kingside with Qa2-d2-g?or h?
perhaps even Qa1...
BL really cant prevent any of our plans as it is in virtual Zuswang on the Q side
right now i dont think there is any knockout blow to end the game Swiftly although the temptation is to play something earth shattering
another 4-5 moves and Black will be almost helpless

Against Qa6 black could play Qc6 I think.

So Qc6 looks like a bad move against Qa6
agreed

But not for the reasons you gave so maybe 35...Rc6 could be give more resistance.
actually i think Rc6 could be played after our Qa6 and therefore we deploy the Night as i suggested..perhaps to F3-H4-F5
personally i think BL will start shuffling its K after our Qa6
in that case i think we can get the N in via f1-e3
