I often use Hiarcs on this forum to analyse test positions that are posted

However I get the feeling the CCC team are seriously out-gunned, so if I join any team it would have to be this one, i.e. the underdogs

You have no idea of the guns we have.

Guns?

I was thinking more on H bomb terms, and I don't mean Hiarcs.

Let's spice it up......

Of course, makes perfect sense. And their team will also use Rybka, they would be silly not to, and other engines too. Both sides will (or should) use a variety of top engines to gain different perspectives
correct!
so we can sign you up to play??

Just Say Yes Regards

Looks to me like you are trying to get the cream of the crop from
CCC and CTF for your team Harvey :)

OK
The challenge has been received and the Team Captain has answered it.. the first move must be played in two weeks
i wonder if there is any interest in a practice game during this time?

i can take on the CCC/CTF team with one of my dedicated computers and the team can post moves ,analysis ..etc etc
two weeks at 48 hours per move wouldnt even get us out of book in two weeks so i suggest we play 1 move per 24 hours and in order to get us out of book i remove Blacks b pawn and i have white
i would reply sometime on the same day that the team moved
that should get us about 13-14 moves in
i would use the Tasc R30v2.2-1993 which is rated just over 2300 Elo
lets see if the team has a winning position in two weeks?
anyone interested?
a different suggestion perhaps?

I guess if CCC do not want to play this the Hiarcs team can use the practice.

Well I hate to say it, but this vindicates what I said earlier - the members of this forum won't be able to devote the time necessary to do this game justice, I have no idea why this or any other challenge was even accepted. The forum may as well just resign now. Yawn.

well lets see what happens Ray
a week before the match is to start we will be setting up the voting and discussion threads in order for members to start discussing the opening move as white
if there is no interest at that point then i am sure the Hiarcs team will understand and agree to cancel the match

as to this attempt at getting in some practice ,well obviously if there is no other player other then Harvey interested in making a move then i wont reply with a move and we can just skip the practice idea
Harvey i think probably dosent need the practice
:P

It vindicates nothing.

They cant see it in this mess.

It needs a new thread.
