Hi Everyone,
Roger Z. , Awesome on playchess.com is working on a book making report for http://enginechess.com , he is one of the higher rated players on the site.
His report should be a great resource for the opening book maker.
There are some great articles from noted opening book makers on the site already.
Thank
Norm

Re: Opening book question
Among the recommendations there, I notice some which don't seem to make sense, likePAKman wrote:There are some great articles from noted opening book makers on the site already.
"Use only mated games!" Why?! Most decided games end with resignation, only few are played until mate.
"Search against every white opening only one black answer (...) because big books make your hardware slower" This seems clearly wrong... Or does that mean books which can have sizes up to Gigabytes?! Anyway, only ONE black answer each, does not make sense to me, of course except there is only one which is really playable.
The concepts of these book makers seem VERY different (and also different to my own, but I didn't create a 'performance' book for competition, yet.)
But Nelson Hernandez' tips are great!
Regards, Mike

Re: Opening book question
Hi Mike,
Thanks for the response.
The opening book making briefs are the opinions of the authors and are of course varied. You bring up an excellent point. I will attempt to find and furnish the email address of each author so questions can be made direct.
Thanks for visiting the site
