Bravo Vasik, he wasted like 1 year of development time to make a GUI no one needs,
First Vasik as far as i know, wasn't the one who developed the GUI. So he didn't spend time on it.

Secondly i need the new GUI since it has some new innovative features.
and just when he made it-Chessbase managed to make a deal with them to sell the engine in their own GUI.
Opinions please.
It's nice that Chessbase is selling Rybka. Now it will start again its nice reports about computer Chess tournaments(before it didn't, since Rybka a then non-Chessbase engine usually was winning them) and also Rybka might have a chance to play a top GM.
After his son's birth they've asked him:
"Is it a boy or girl?"
YES! He replied.....

So, why didn't they do it before? When they did not have a GUI?
I do not understand how you can know that their GUI is buggy when they still did not release it.

If there are bugs in the beta version of Aquarium it does not mean that the bugs are not going to be fixed when the Aquarium interface is released.

Perhaps he was the one of those guys who got the special version of Aquarium for beta-testing?

Yes you are right that Rybka team do fix bugs before releasing the version, unlike the chessbase guys who never respond to our feedback, also but the CB GUI has many features and faster than all the other GUI's out there.

Is Aquarium essentially Chess Assistant GUI with extra features added? Or is it completely new one?

After Aquarium is released it's expected that new features will be released weekly/monthly, so in the unlikely case that a bug appears it will be shot in sight.

Aquarium is brand new software (with features from Chess Assistant but not directly based on it.)

Aquarium is a NEW gui, it will not give you database updates. At least I do not believe it will. Aquarium is to Chess Assistant, what Fritz is to Chessbase. I agree with Ulysses on this point.

I'm sure you are gonna buy a Aquarium GUI alone without Rybka 3 engine, Tony :P

Thanks, I don't know anything about the Aquarium but it looks interesting because it offers new engine-engine tournament :)

I might consider buying it after I read customer reviews next month...Only if majority of reviews turned out to be positive.

I wonder if the demo version of the Aquarium GUI will be made available?

I have decided to finally cross over to the Dark Side..I have decided to buy Rybka 3 with Aquarium GUI.. I have no use for a playchess account and my current computer doesnt have a DVD drive, so buying any chessbase product would be a waste of money.
