I expect rybka3 to win a similiar match against latest Crafty when rybka get 3 seconds per move against 300 seconds per move of Crafty.
Here are the conditions of the original match

Re: replace rebel with rybka in the 100:1 time handicap matc
Rybka 2.3.2a has a time control bug in where setting it to "seconds per move" makes her sometimes to play a move instantly that could lose against programs like Spike, so I'd hope Rybka 3 to have this bug removed or to use a time control that isn't "time per move" in where Rybka gives the same time handicap.Uri Blass wrote:rybka get 3 seconds per move

I don't like the conditions of the match the link has since the games take too much time to complete.Uri Blass wrote:I expect rybka3 to win a similiar match against latest Crafty when rybka get 3 seconds per move against 300 seconds per move of Crafty.

But i like very much this 3 s versus 300 s of Rybka 3 versus Crafty 22.1.
But i hope you mean not one game only that should be played.
I think that a 1 game match is meaningless and at least 20 games should be played or even more.
Ponder should be OFF of course.
And i think it's better to run this test with a test set like Nunn, or Silver50, etc and not with books, since then we may have opening book wins and this would not show the strength of the programs in some positions in this 1:100 time handicap.
Or perhaps if opening books be used, then the ending positions that would occur, should not have a clear advantage for any side.
About the predictions of this match:
I believe that Rybka 3 would lose such a match because a 1:100 time handicap is too big and the time for Rybka is 3 seconds only.
If for example was 50 minutes for Rybka versus 5000 minutes for Crafty i would not predict a Crafty win but a Rybka one.
I also believe that Rybka 3 would not simply lose, but it would lose badly(more than 65% for Crafty 22.1)
After his son's birth they've asked him:
"Is it a boy or girl?"
YES! He replied.....

I believe that rybka is going to win but after looking at the rating of Crafty I guess that she is going to score less than 65% against Crafty.George Tsavdaris wrote:I don't like the conditions of the match the link has since the games take too much time to complete.Uri Blass wrote:I expect rybka3 to win a similiar match against latest Crafty when rybka get 3 seconds per move against 300 seconds per move of Crafty.

I admit that the CCRL rating of Crafty22.1 is slightly higher than what I expected (I simply looked at best versions and Crafty22.1 was not there because it did not play enough games)
I assume that a good quad is going to be used for both sides with the conditions that you suggest.
I guess that more time or faster hardware is going to help rybka.

These handicap time conditions have never been my cup of tea,I think that they are totaly useless....
