Yes, he missed his chance in this position. Twice actually, since 25.Bg5 here, or 26.Bg5 a move later were very strong.

Maybe, but I think he started to mess up with 18.Kg2 already. 18.f4 Nc7 19.a4 Na6 20.Nf3 or 19...a6 20.Nf3 b5 21.Bd2 Qb6 22.a5.
I think 18.Kg2 was just a useless move at this point.
I think Kg2 was ok. If you want to play h4-h5, you'd like the rook on the h-file and that is one way to get it over there. There is no big rush here and white would like to have both rooks on the kingside when things start to happen...
After 18.Kg2 Nc7 19.f4 Na6 the move 20.a4 is not tempting since Nb4 21.Qc1 Na2 followed by Nc3 is a bit nasty for white. So white had to allow some counterplay on the Qeenside. I'm sure it wasn't enough objectively but it made things much more difficult for white OTB IMO.

After 18.f4 Nc7 19.Nf3 Na6 20.a4 or 19.a4 white has a won game. f4-f5 advance followed by e4-e5 later is crushing.

I understood your point about the moves you suggest. I simply know Roman pretty well and his idea is "prepare, prepare, prepare, before opening up against a computer. It is probably because playing safe, preparatory moves is easier than doing deep calculation, a sort of "take a breather here and there rather than going full-bore the whole time."

What I used to find remarkable was TInsley could play almost even with the computer, even though the computer played almost perfectly thanks to the endgame tables. It shows what a human _can_ calculate, given the fortitude and skill to do so.

I also think that Rybka played not so good. Mobility, pawn play and space advantage are simply two of the things that human GMs understand much better than computers.
