Well, there are several 'tops' to reach. The conventional one here is rating list, but it's not the only way to achieve the rewards that come from uniqueness. Rating list tends to be a bit temporary too.emerson4301972 wrote:In chess, I thought you need craziness to reach the top. heheOvyron wrote:That's when the engine jumps over the line from "extreme aggressiveness" to "extreme craziness".

No one is questioning the uniqueness of CSTII,actualy I was praising it's amazing playing style with this very post of mine
The only thing I am mad about is that Thorsten holds CSTIII for himself and is torturing us

Well, what I think is this. If the two most important aspects of the CSTal2 evaluation could be got into a very fast searcher then it would be almost invincible.Dr.Wael Deeb wrote:Hi Chris, chrisw wrote:Well, there are several 'tops' to reach. Hi Chris,
Are you still programming a chessengine and are you planning to release it?
CS TAL II is a very attractive playing engine indeed, an UCI-version would be nice
Best wishes,
André

Nope. Thorsten did ask the people with the CSTal2 rights to pass on the rights and the source, in which case I'ld have maybe cooperated with some bright developer with a few ideas, but the rights owners smelled $$$$$$ too many. Basically we'ld have just done it for fun.Andre van Ark wrote:Hi Chris,

My dear pal, remember cstal was matde to play human beings. In that realm, to be victim of an speculative attack is something very good; or you can reject it, wich is pleasurable, or you are beaten by it, which is pleasant too.
I prefer to suffer a quick, witty death to cstal that to be progressively suffocated in 67 moves by a boring, acccurate, bean counter kind of engine.
Death is fun if fast regards
