Dear readers,
I have an older PC that I'd like to replace with a quad. Given the advice regarding computer parts that's been posted to Uri when he asked about buying a quad, and valuable information offered by Majd Ansari and others, I think I now know what to purchase for my 64-bit quad.
Alas, I'm a computer dummy and am not handy. Given these facts and the purchase price, I'm unwilling to attempt to assemble my PC from the various components myself. That said, is there a company whom you'd recommend as a PC builder if I purchase the parts?
One friend suggested Gateway Computers. I'll check with them but I doubt they'll assemble a computer where the parts are not ordered through them.
Thanks in advance.
All the very best,
Steve

None of the Big Name computer vendors are going to give you a deal on custom builds.
A much better approach would be to investigate local small businesses that specialize in PC components and whom will build to specification for a small fee. The fee is worth paying as this usually provides a warranty and a shoulder to cry on when something goes wrong.
