Deep Sjeng 3 vs Rybka 2 test position

Post by kgburcham »

This position is from a Deep Sjeng 3.0 mp x64 vs Rybka 2.3.2a mp x64, on XP pro 64 with Quad 2.4 and 4 gigs ram. No thinking on opponent time.
Time was 4 hour game. Played 6 games and Deep Sjeng won two of them. Trying to see why Rybka lost.

I do not have Rybka 3. Was curious about how long Rybka 3 takes to see this, I assume it will see quickly.

30...h4

Test position should have been 30.h4

Mike,

I also get the sequence:

1.hxg4 b6 2.Rbf1[] Ra3
+- (2.27) Depth: 18 00:10:52 49677kN

I find that after hxg4 Deep Rybka 3 goes to 20 ply searches in about 30 seconds on my E6850 dual processor at 3.15 Ghz.

I am not sure what Mr. Burcham is trying to show.

Here's what I get with Crafty. It never chooses h4, assuming that is the key move you are looking for:

Code: Select all

               19->   1:04   1.27   1. hxg4 bxc6 2. dxc6 Be6 3. Rbf1 Bg5
