In the Fritz/ChessBase GUI, is there a way, in Infinite Analysis, to exclude (or include) moves?
or do you have to content yourself with the "next best" (keyboard Y)?
Note: The Shredder GUI does allow a complete solution
Extract from ShredderManual.pdf:
Selecting moves to analyse
You can tell Shredder which moves to analyse or not analyse in a given position. To do so, switch on the analysis mode first.
Hold down the Ctrl key when entering a move on the board. This will tell Shredder to only analyse this move. You can repeat this to select any number of moves to analyse. If you enter a move again with the Ctrl key pressed it will be removed from the list of moves to analyse.
Compared to a normal analysis the program can search faster as not all moves need to be examined. However it is up to you to pick the right moves for analysing.
Similarly, you can enter a move with the Shift key pressed to exclude the move from the search. You can use this feature if you do not like the best move suggested by Shredder.
The Aquarium GUI also allows a complete solution.

Hi Ernest,
in mode position analysis you can exclude moves when you put behind them ?
Here is German help text:
"Falls ein vorhandener Zug mit einem Fragezeichen ("?") kommentiert ist, wird er ignoriert. Damit schließt man Züge aus"

Hi Werner,
I think you are speaking of Deep Position Analysis which is a complicated beast I don't know well...
But I mean the "simple" Infinite Analysis: I paste a position on the Board, and then I launch the Infinite Analysis (the microscope icon). There I would like to exclude some 1st moves, in order to make the analysis quicker for the other moves.

I don't think the Fritz GUI allows you to do that, you can only exclude best moves.
