Congrats to Ulysses!! :D

and also to Harun and Kenny!

Only bug I've seen so far is that BlckBishop had exhibited numerous bugs, so It was removed. Other than that there were minor bugs in time management of some engines.

Imo, Grand Blitz events have been a roaring success! in a sense that
  • * There were fewer bugs considering the number of distinct participants
    * No Power Shut Downs: Power didn't turn off, and mess the whole Tournament, erase the results etc (it happened with GBT 1 earlier)
    * Number of people participating more so in GBT 1, and GBT 2
I enjoyed watching some matches, and enjoyed the competition and good fights in the top order.

Brutus winning the tournament was real twist, I didn't expect it, I thought either NOW or Counter would win, and here you have... the dark horse (ahem, The Dark Knight) : Brutus!

Thanks to the engine authors and participants that made this tournament possible!

Next time, I'll probably have more time for detailed tests. :)

*Does victory dance*

*Realizes that he basically did it by pure luck*

*Keeps dancing anyway*

I'm too damn lazy to do that :)

But I can make "predictions" without doing any calculations... just taking a quick glance.

I think either You, Pedro, or George could be leading right now... but it's just a guess.
Well, I guess the Top 3 right!

On a sidenote: I think you guys will enjoy this novel (if you like prediction contests):

Replay by Ken Grimwood

I've been reading it since about a week or so. Lots of predictions and betting stuffs in there. Good dialogues etc

I wouldn't call that pure luck, I would call it a "predictions based on popularity vote", which sometimes works, but in other times flops.

I would have expected BigLion to do far better than it did. Perhaps it just sucks at this time control.

Ofcourse, I forgot about that, Graham. It does have a big time problem in blitz which is quite rare.

Swami, is the Knock out tournament with these engines still planned?
