Hi all ,
our rating lists are now online and can be found under the attached links.
40 / 20:
Today we added 1446 games made with 31 different engines to our list. See more in our list "Games of the week". In total our 40/20 list is based now on 385.444 games.
New engines:
We have started to test Scorpio 2.5 x64 1CPU. The engine reached 2730 elos in 370 games: this is 60 points ahead of version 2.4 and too in front of best older version 2.1 - now Daniel is again on the right way.
The other new entries are private Fruit versions (we hope Ryan will continue developping this engine):
33 Fruit 090705 x64 4CPU 2985 +35 -35 217 games (+32 to Fruit 2.4)
71 Fruit 090705 x64 2CPU 2940 +18 -18 773 games (update +2)
110 Fruit 090705 w32 2CPU 2910 +34 -34 248 games (start rating)
I am having trouble de-compressing the download CEGTTOTAL.ZIP (152,840,153 bytes) of the 40/20 games. I get a message that there is an unsupported compression method. I use "7-zip" to uncompress. Could you please take a look at this? Thanks.

Hi Norm,
I get the same message when I try to use 7-zip. However with built in Zipper of Total Commander it is no problem to unzip the file. I will ask the admin which Zipper was used.
Try pkunzip meanwhile.

he used Windows 7 - no special zip program
I was able to unzip using an old pkunzip.exe which does not recognize file names (main part) of more that 8 characters. Although it seemed to do its job, it did give an error message concerning some sort of header problem.
I downloaded and installed the latest version of 7-zip, version 9.10beta. It also was NOT able to extract cegttotal.pgn from cegttotal.zip.
From the 7-zip FAQ:
"Why can't 7-Zip open some ZIP archives?
In 99% of these cases it means that the archive contains incorrect headers. Other ZIP programs can open some archives with incorrect headers, since these programs just ignore errors.
If you have such archive, please don't call the 7-Zip developers about it. Instead try to find the program that was used to create the archive and inform the developers of that program that their software is not ZIP-compatible.
There are also some ZIP archives that were encoded with methods unsupported by 7-Zip. Some of these unsupported methods: PPMd (WinZip), WAVPack (WinZip)."
I think it will be beneficial to those who download from CEGT if you can resolve this problem so that 7-zip, the standard in decompression, is able to work successfully.

Do you mean Microsoft?
As he used Windows 7 Explorer to zip the file
Micrsoft thinks they make the standard !

PS: I will inform our admin.
Btw, it is 7-zip's FAQ that you are quoting, not me.
I find it hard to believe that Windows 7 creates a compressed file that 7-zip cannot uncompress. But if this did happen, I'm sure there would have been a lot of noise about it, and I'm sure a fix would be made in a very short time. The fact that there is nothing on the net about a conflict between Windows 7 and 7-zip makes me believe that the problem is due to human error.

Yes, I think so too.
I have just made a short test with my Windows 7 and zipped a pgn - then transferred it to my XP PC and used 7-zip to unzip it without problems.
So I think too the last cegttotal.zip file is somewhat corrupt (defect).
