Compare Analysis test - The three best Engines from this moment are being tested in compare analysing Topalovs moves in WC 2010 game 6.
All the black Topalov moves from move 9 till 58 is 50 moves
Fritz 12 gui, compare analysis, 10 sec for a move
Centrino Dual Core, Win XP System 32 bit, 2 CPU, Fritzmark 6,29
FireBird 1.2., gives 32 same moves as best move is 64 %
Stockfish 1.7.1. JA, gives 27 same moves is 54 %
Rybka 3, gives 17 same moves is 34 %
Firebird 1.2 proves to be the best in reproducing Topalov’s moves
I ‘ve done this kind of engine-testing before with other GM games of Kasparov and Botwinnik and there also Firebird did better in compare analysis, finding the good GM moves.

At analysis time 30 sec - in stead of 10 sec - a move, Rybka finds 3 more Topalov moves in total 20 moves is 40 %

Thanks Bram. I was hoping someone would check the movesberam wrote:At analysis time 30 sec - in stead of 10 sec - a move, Rybka finds 3 more Topalov moves in total 20 moves is 40 %

FireBird 1.2 may be is the best engine for analysis. However, analyzing backwards (from the end of the game) you are given an unfair advantage to the engine. Analyzing from the start of the game, the result would not be as good as 64%.beram wrote: FireBird 1.2., gives 32 same moves as best move is 64 %

Where does he state that he lets the engines analyze backwards? I can't find that statement.istolacio wrote:FireBird 1.2 may be is the best engine for analysis. Thanks for the data! In addition to these very interesting results, would it be a huge effort for you to provide also data like the following, or part of it?beram wrote:Compare Analysis test - The three best Engines from this moment are being tested in compare analysing Topalovs moves in WC 2010 game 6.
I ‘ve done this kind of engine-testing before with other GM games of Kasparov and Botwinnik and there also Firebird did better in compare analysis, finding the good GM moves.
a) How many times did
a1) all three,
a2) only two,
a3) one one, and
a4) none of the engines agree with the GM?
b) In the cases a2, a3, a4: How many times did the engines which did not agree evaluate their best move significantly better (>= MARGIN) than their evaluation of the GM move (which requires an additional analysis of the position after the GM move)?

'Compare analysis' in Fritz GUI starts from the end of the game.

Only a few remarks I would like to make in addition. It was a very close GM game within the drawing margins.
1) Only after 29 Na7 black could have become slightly better. According to all three engines black should have played Ra8 then, whereafter 30 Nc6 Bxc6 31 Rxc6 black can take pawn on e2, which would lead to a draw to.
2) 25 ...Rab8 would not have been played by all three engines. They prefer ..Rac8 which they all evaluate as equal 0.00

There is a new program that makes such statistics. The author is making improvements, but it is usable.Sven Schüle wrote: Thanks for the data! In addition to these very interesting results, would it be a huge effort for you to provide also data like the following, or part of it?
