Post by Graham Banks »

The Talkchess charter allows posts that:

2. Are not abusive in nature
3. Do not contain personal and/or libelous attacks on others

Mr. Banks you are very active in this forum and yet you have not answered so far this question asked by both Gunther Simon and Mike Byrne:

Have you received Fat Fritz 2 for free from ChessBase?

It's none of anybody's business.
What has that got to do with character assassination?

I don't think it's an issue for rating lists to receive commercial engines for free. If every member of every rating lists had to buy all commercial engines, it could add a significant expense on top of the time and hardware for what is a free service to the community.

However, this thread about character assassination doesn't make sense.

Chessbase and the people involved in Fat Fritz (primarily Albert Silver) are seeing their reputation damaged, but as long as this reputation is damaged because they did bad things, and without resorting to defamation through lies and other forms of deception, what's the issue ?

With maybe a few exceptions, the criticisms are neither abusive nor libelous.

there's a report button for some reason I believe

I wonder why some people demand "social justice" for cloners or even try to make them look like victims
in fact, those who do so are no better than the cloners themselves

the only victim here is actually computer chess and the community (see how it's polarized)
