CPW

Post by Michel »

What is the current procedure to get a login at the CPW? I was thinking of writing an article on the evaluation of opening books for engine testing at Fishtest.

This evaluation is based on one single criterion: mathematically(!) minimize the number of games required to prove that one engine is stronger than another.

The approach is based on the use of the pentanomial model combined with normalized Elo and time odds testing.

Sadly a set of 324 position is far too small to do engine testing. The DFRC book was tested and it is actually reasonably good but not as good as the UHO book.
Ideas=science. Simplification=engineering.
Without ideas there is nothing to simplify.

I do not know for sure, but it sounds familiar to me that you have to get in touch with either Gerd or Mark through PM, explaining that you want to contribute to CPW, even linking to this thread, where you have already written a summary of the topic. It will be easier to get activated an user in your case because you are a valuable, well known user at TalkChess. Good luck!

Regards from Spain.
