if you've laid The Baron to rest, would it be possible to release the final version for us all to enjoy?
Just hoping for a nice Christmas pressie!![]()

Re: West vs East Hemisphere Comp Chess Team Match
Richard told me he'll consider releasing the final "The Baron" once Crash Test Dummy (CTD) is stronger.Tony Thomas wrote:Yes Christmas presents are good even in January.Graham Banks wrote:Hi Richard, pijl wrote:It is Crashtest Dummy that will be playing, not the Baron. You might have missed it amongst the re-send e-mails, but actually not all the e-mails were copies of each otherCRoberson wrote:Micro-Max by H G Muller has joined the Eastern Hemisphere team.

Joker by H. G. Muller has entered.
We now have 8 for the West and 10 for the East.
We need 2 more for the West. Of course, I'd like
to see much more for each side.
Where is HIARCS and ZAPPA?

A 2600+ Engine has joined the Eastern Team.
E.T. Chess by Eric Triki of France.
It will be operated by David Acevedo.
We need more Western Engines!

The matches have been going since 10 am New York time.
The second round is underway - the games are unrated
so ICC guests can view them.

Due to some no-shows I offered to enter the Baron about 5 minutes before its game started, so it was fully unprepared. This meant:pijl wrote:It is Crashtest Dummy that will be playing, not the Baron. Development on the Baron was stopped last summer.
Richard.
- no book, was on its own from move 1
- no egtb's, as they are no longer available on that machine
- no SMP version, as I didn't know where I put a stable version and searching for it would take too long.
- old machine (Athlon 2000+, 1.67Ghz).
This was the main reason to seed it below CTD (just in case someone wonders about that ).
Richard.
