Telepath gets several IM's and GM's per month playing it and I rarely
put it online compared to others.

Put it online and call it Romi and identify it in the finger notes then
you'll have lots of opponents due to its uniqueness.
several IM's and GM's per month ???

... this is similar to my own experience with Fruit online ...

I just would not say that there is no trouble getting a titled opponent, knowing that titled players play thousands of games per day on ICC ...

By the way, if you follow the games running on ICC you will see that most games where a titled player faces a computer account are not against "unique" weaker programs but well against the few hardware monsters running a fully optimised rybka.

Marc,

I said I rarely put it online. So, to get several per month seems
good given its online online about 10 days per month.

High level simple stats rarely tell the whole story.

When I look at the history of the humans that play Telepath (the
IM and GM titled ones), I see they jump around between Crafty, Tinker,
Arasan, Rybka, other humans and so forth. Why would they not
like variety since each of those opponents has a different personality?
Once you've played one Fruit, have you not played them all?

Bottom line: if Tony puts Romi online, it will get play.

Latest Toga versions have a very different playing style than Fruit, IMHO.
