Is there a chess GUI that accepts to imput moves _by_voice_ ?
At my local chess club we have some blind chess players and one of them asked me if that was possible...

Re: GUI feature
The default chess program that comes with MacOsX does. I think the engine is an old Sjeng (12.13 maybe?) I also believe it accepts human vs human games, but I am not sure.

Re: GUI feature
I would expect their exists general speech-recognition software for this, which you can interface to replace keyboard input in any application. It is not a trivial task would be very wasteful to develop something like that only to benifit a GUI for a silly game.
The version of WinBoard for the blind (WinBoard 4.4 for JAWS) does not have it, despite the fact it is one of the most accessible Chess interfaces for the visually impaired. For the speech output of that we also rely on general screen-reader software (in this case JAWS).

Re: GUI feature
I was wrong, it seems you can only play human vs computer games. The about says it is open source, I don't know if all of it (chess gui + engine + voice recognition) or if this GPL refers only to Sjeng. The default chess program that comes with MacOsX does.
