I think Komodo won't be released until it will be with no doubts the strongest engine in the world, on single core and on multi core.

So i think who is waiting for Komodo will have to wait for a long time.

Hi,

It has been long time since Komodo MP was said to be released soon.
Then there was a bug to be fixed.
Does Don and/or Larry have an update 4 us ?

The MP bug is still not found/fixed, that is the sole holdup. The underlying engine is now too close to Houdini to call at any time limit beyond blitz. We'll release a few days after the bug is fixed.

Thanks Larry,

That must be a terrible bug, or at least lets say verry challenging one.

I cross my fingers that it is fixed shortly now.

The truth of the matter is that I have not spent very much time on it, as there are a number of personal responsibilities that I have to take care of as well as improvements to Komodo that have been going on that are not MP related. However I am quite eager to get MP out and I think Komodo is now strong enough that an MP version makes real sense.

Fair enough.

Do you believe these personal responsabilities/priority are now down and you can better concentrate on the MP or this is still not possible as for now ?

I cannot predict the future, but I MP is very critical for our success and we are redoubling our efforts to get it out so we can focus on putting distance between us and all the other programs and also to then focus on MPI for clusters.

You're doing what? Can you explain this? Will this be for a Cluster Rental scheme a la Vas, or do you intend to release it to the public so they can build their own Komodo Cluster at home?

(p.s. Trademark the name Komodo Kluster!)

No, we do not have in mind a rental scheme and I personally think it's a stupid idea. The MPI version would be released as a separate product to the public. But that is thinking ahead, right now the focus is on getting MP working.
