We end the night on 4.5/6 = with Zap and Rybka but if the tournament was only 6 rounds we would have won due to the way they calculate the scores v various opponents.

Yes due to the unfair way they calculate the scores.

Hiarcs was white 4 times out of 6 games when rybka was white only 3 times out of 6 games but this is not considered in the table.

They scored the same number of points against the common opponents and the only reason that hiarcs is considered better is because it beated the king when rybka beated micromax.

I think that the pairing that allowed it was unfair and good pairing should give rybka strong opponent in the second round and not opponent that lost.

I'm sure that things will even themselves out over the 9 rounds.

Whatever happens, I hope that those who miss out on top spot don't use the pairing rules as an excuse.
The fact is that in a short tournament, anything can happen really.

you played isichess and isichess scored more than Stoofvlees

still both rybka and hiarcs scored the same against the same opponents.

It is not clear what achievement is bigger because hiarcs played more with the white pieces when I admit that hiarcs played better opponents when the opponents were not the same.

I've got my fingers crossed, If Zap wins it might give some motivation to Anthony to continue programming. May be Rybka, Hiarcs dudes should blunder in a game and then someone here will come out with conspiracy theories saying Anthony paid them off or something similar.
