Hello Jon.

What does the Poppy Challenger look like? I have searched around and am having problems finding a picture of it.

Thanks Fernando! I just checked my favorite online chess store:

www.wholesalechess.com

The Alexandra costs five dollars LESS than the King Arthur! :(

Perhaps King Arthur runs a bit dearer because the unit has both a sensor board and an LCD board - Alex only has an info display to go with the sensor board.

I actually think the King Arthur / Chess Station series of programs are a little maligned. They are better than their reputation and unlike most entry level machines (i.e Novag Star Beryl and any of the "beginner" Saiteks), this machine plays quite well on the quicker levels relative to it's maximum playing strength.

So for quick chess for example, I would recommend a Chess Station or King Arthur over a Star Beryl, but the other way around for slow games.

In any case the current offering of Excalibur site is quite miserable, almost as if they signed a vote of poverty. I hope it is a sign that a new bath of products is on the way. But Steve Blincoe, knowing more, is too much tight with his knowledge.

Still waiting regards

No more Excalibur for me. I'm saving my money for a Novag Obsidian or Star Ruby! :) The Star Opal is interesting, too.

Don't forget a Phantom is on the way from Excalibur. It is a must. If only brings a Spracklen program...

Phantom regards

your constant belittlement of Nelsons programming skills has not gone unnoticed

Orders have been issued by Excalibur to insure that you will FOREVER be prohibited from acquiring the Phantom Force

you may now gaze upon that...which you will NEVER have:

I sent a big bouquet of flowers to Nelson and a formal document making amendment of my previous words. I hope also the elders will support me and also you, my friend.

Fully repented and already in my knees regards
