What pawn on b7, 1...b6 was Rybka's first move!?
I think he was alluding to the fact that the b7 bishop was biting on granite.
OK, I see what he means ... except the b7 bishop is pretty nice, putting good presure on the center.
Agreed. 8-)

There is an interesting chat going on in Playchess as the game is being relayed there. Personally I think white has mobilised all of his forces while black's bishop is blocked by the pawn and the Queen out of action. White is ready to even use his shirt if necessary to attack black. :)

It's turning out to be a great game! Hopefully Ehlvest can hold his nerve and avoid a blunder.

Yes! Graham,

You hit it spot on. Thank God there are no Tablebases and they are using a special version that plays with Contempt! The contempt factor may prove to be a weakness here. Ehlvest has good chances if his nerves hold. @#$!, they didn't hold! Over now. Rybka Wins!

Yes - looks like Rybka will go 1-0 up, but a great game nevertheless. :)

I had my doubts about the white 18. Rc2 sac, but GM Ehlvest played it well.

Hey Ted - perhaps you could post the position where Ehlvest could have played 33.Re2 because that was seen as the crucial juncture.
Some believe he might have been winning had he played 33.Re2.
