I finally seem to have found the cure to the computer chess disease: Start playing the viola!
:D

It's possible that other musical instruments will also do the trick, but I haven't verified this.

Trust me Tord, you wouldn't want to hear me play a single note on any instrument, not to mention sing a single tone. :P :D

What makes you believe anyone would want to hear me play? I think the prices of apartments in my neigborhood will instantly drop by at least 50% now that I have started playing.

Well that reminds me, my neighbour next door was selling their appartment and I asked them if they needed my help with anything.

They said "yeah you could mow your lawn" and I was just like err uh, ok, right...

So I had to mow it, and now someone actually bought the place next door... Days of peace are over!

Well now, enough with this off topic nonsense! :D

Colossus has better chance of getting into top 10 freeware engines in less than a year. Martin has improved the engine by almost 100 elo since its release as UCI.

Do you have contact with old program authors,Fernando? We would like to see more old programs come with UCI version.

I have had many friendly pm exchanges with ChrisW for the past month he said he doesn't have the CSTAL source code anymore.

Regards.

I have some contact with Martin Bryant, colossus father, but I would not say I am an intimate friend of him. Same with Chris W. From Martin I do expect many things for the immediate future. I have nagged him a couple of times not to just improve Colossus, but to create a new, gorgeous GUI. This is a somewhat forgotten aspect of our hobby. Perhaps I am so somewhat childish, but I like to see new packages hanging from the Xmast tree.
My best
