Re: Zappa Mexico Crashes
There has been at least three versions of the download of Zap Mexico.
I bought it before the Rybka match, the first download I had kept stalling in the Fritz GUI, 2 days later I re-downloaded, the executable size had changed and my issue with the Fritz GUI was cured! I then re-downloaded a few days ago and this time the exe was identical to the second time but I had gained an ini file too!
I have mailed SMK myself and Anthony is trying to work out a few glitches, if he does managed to sort the wrinkles then another version may be released later.
Best regards
Paul

There was a Readme.txt file as well as the Zappa.ini file when I downloaded on 02.10.07. It also stated the link would be kept open for 3 downloads so it may be worth you trying another download.
The second line of .ini file confirms what it should look like if viewed in Notepad. There should be no spaces between parameters so the tidy, more readable layout you have posted would not work.
The engine works fine in Shredder GUI and Chessbase GUI in both 32 and 64 bit operating systems. Have you tried other GUI?

At least you didn't ask why ;-)Anabolic Karpov wrote:contacted by whom?
IIRC that nick was already mentioned together with a list
of accounts to be deleted, but around that time you didn't post
anymore. Well now the question will rise again.

I didnt want to waste my, my two other chances, so no, I did not download it. Regular Zappa, ie 1.1 runs with the one that is somewhat similar to the one that posted here. I havent had a chance to email them either, busy with attending the integration meetings in Suwanee, Ga.

Re: Zappa Mexico Crashes
Here is something weird. I extracted it to desktop and opened the engine in console mode, and it no longer exits unexpectedly. Let's see if I can run an overnight tournament. Also note that my arena engine folder is hidden to possibly avoid anyone from fiddling with my engines (deletion), and the other goodies(Wael would know), so would that really affect anything?
