Is there a trick to get Shredder to use his own book in the DF10 GUI?
Yes, there is one. Unfortunately I do not have a Classic GUI at hand here but I can desribe the general concept.

You have to convert the S11.bkt book to a small Pocketfritz book which then should be placed in the same folder as the engine. Have a look at the help file about "Book", "convert", "Pocket" or something similar.

I am not sure if you are happy with this solution as the book is not learning and ALL moves are integrated into that book. Of course it might happen that a d or e move is played in a server game! Overall the Shredder.bkt books are made for play vs humans and have a wide variaty of different openings.

Bye and have fun with Shredder 11

Oh yea, I remember doing that last time around. Are you talking about the export book option were it creates a .pbk book? It works for me now, I cant believe I forgot about it. All Erik has to do is to install the shredder11book, and then go to Extras>Opening Book>load opening book and it loads the shredder11.bkt. Then he has to go Extras>opening book>export opening book and it creates a .pbk book. When I said I couldnt find the .bkt book last time I was actually talking about the .pbk book, I was never able to find it. Yes, it does play d or e moves, it did in few of my games with shredder 10.

Thanks, Ingo.

As for having fun: the Shredder Classic 3 demo version has already quit 3 times during an engine match.
I thought Demo versions usually quit after a certain number of moves?? Is that not true with Shredder? I have the original, so I have no use for a demo. Currently it is number 3, showing a 60 point increase.

Are you using Vista? Shredder Classic 2.1 did that all the time.

Hi,

just a little hint for european customers:

If you have a credit card it's still better to pay in US Dollars and not in Euros. Currently you get with your credit card about 1,37$ for 1 Euro (At least that was what I got about a weak ago)
Therefor Deep Shredder 11 would be just about 87,60 € and not 99,99 €, so you save over 12 €. The single Shredder also gets down from 49,99 € to about 43,80 € which is still about 6 € cheaper. When you buy more then one product you even cat get more rebate.
As I don't understand why this is so I would recommand to use that option as long it is possible, there is really no explanation to me why something is cheaper in US currency then in Euros... Looks like the same with cars, there is no explanation either why almost every car is more expensive in germany (including german cars) then anywhere else...

There is also an upgrade discount for (Deep) Shredder 10 UCI owners.

I dont know if you are making this up. When I bought my Shredder 11, the links to download, my password, and the link for the big book, all were included in the receipt. So I pretty much got my shredder in about 30 seconds.

Last time

14-15 hours to have Zappa Mexico :(

this time it will probably be the same

Your order will most likely be
processed within the next 4 hours, but in no case will it take more than 24
hours.

they should give discount for Zappa MEXICO buyer too :D
