I am of the same opinion that Jose Carlos.
It is interesting to hear the comments of a GM, but this only when there is a game at playing and not 25. If I have to pay for it does not seem to me very interesting, further sure that the comments are always on certain engines and games.
It is better to be a spectator who author/operator of a mediocre program. I will be a spectator.

Personally, I think it would be best to either nix the comments or find a GM that would do it for free. Even though I'm a poor student, I don't mind paying $15 to get into the tournament. But I think the entry fee is making a lot of people not want to enter the tournament. Normally most people don't join until the very end, but the list of participants still looks rather weak. I would much rather have a bigger playing field than a GM commentor. And if you do decide to cancel the entry fee, don't bother refunding my money, just keep it. You do enough work as it is.Peter Skinner wrote:A total of $700US needs to be raised.
If there are 45 participants @ $15 = $675
We currently have 12...
At some point I have to either cancel the GM and such if the money is not raised and refund the entry fees to those who have paid. Then just have it like we did last year.
This would be disappointing for me and some others as I worked very hard to get sponsorship for the event. It wasn't easy as this is an online event.

I tried _very_ hard to find an IM or GM that would commentate for free. Trust me. It just wasn't going to happen.Zach Wegner wrote: Personally, I think it would be best to either nix the comments or find a GM that would do it for free. In previous years where there was a commentator, the fees were paid by a participant that wished to remain anonymous.
Since we did not have a commentator last year, I thought I would try and get one for CCT10. It looks like that will probably go on the way side.
There was a suggestion via email that I should put a few of the processors that were given as prizes up for auction on eBay to try and raise the fees, keeping three for the top place finishers.
I don't want to do that, as I would like them all to remain as prizes.
I was kicked out of Chapters because I moved all the Bibles to the fiction section.

Hehe, me too. As everyone can tell by the participants list, I am badly in need of an upgrade.Peter Skinner wrote:I don't want to do that, as I would like them all to remain as prizes.
