You mentioned you were using a laptop. Double check to make sure your processor isn't trying to throttle down to save power. I've accidentally run in power saver mode before, and the results were not very good :)

No, I'm not THAT newbie :) :)
Actually I tweaked it a bit and now its 150-200 kn/s with my eval, but now its going to go down :)
I remember Fritz 10 was 1700 kn/s on my laptop.

I am using the "Release" configuration in VS 2005.
Initially I posted different numbers in this thread because that was a Debug config. However, as far as I understand- 150 kn/s means something is really slow there.
I dont think speed means everything. There are some slow searchers in the top rankings.

Sure Tony, but my with an evaluation function that only counts material 150kn/s is too slow :) Your slow searchers are slow because they have heavy eval function. Mine is dumb and slow, that is not good :)
