Under Arena, GC can play and analyze. However, under Shredder Classic 3, when I try to analyze, it hangs with the mentioned message, and Shredder is reporting that he is waiting for engine GarboChess2.
Yeah, this is because I currently don't run the search on another thread, so UCI can't send the terminate message through to stop analysis. I plan to fix that in the next version, but I figured most people wouldn't be using GarboChess for analysis (yet) ;).

Hungarian language might cause some differences in dates/times and things like that, but I don't do anything using those really. So, just to be clear, double clicking on the exe on your 64 bit XP machine crashes straight away as well?

However, with the version I used yesterday (139k zip file) double clicking was all right, it did not hang. My usual method is to open Total Commander and double click the file name there or press enter when on the name - I think that should not make a difference. So the answer is no, it did not crash that way, accepted the go command and started to calculate, displaying the lines.
Okay, thanks Gabor. It's a relief to know it at least runs properly on the machine. I may have some UCI related bug that is surfacing when the language is not english I suppose, but at least it's not the CRT issue still :).

I'll try out the Fritz GUI, as the only one I've tested in is Arena so far.
