Such a subforum would be idle most of the time, so I don't see the problem. By having an extra forum for such a very specific topic,
nothing is "oppressed". I don't say clones should not be discussed, I say they should be discussed in another place.
"Seeking for the truth" is not the only thing which happens in such cases. What also happens is that 9 from 10 postings are entirely useless and that it turns into an annoying mess and a rotten message board parody (only without being funny). I guess we had at least 50 Strelka threads with at least 2,000 postings. Truth was found during the first 1% of it, the other 99% were trash, maybe with the exception of a very small amount of substantial new infos, once in a while.
"Simply not click" doesn't work! I almost ignore them anyway. But if they dominate the front page of the general forum (several clone threads simultanously on the top, for weeks), the interest in other topics is reduced and other topics are shifted to the bottom or off page 1, by these clone hysterias.
Some time ago, the chess programming topics were taken away from the general forum, into their own new subforum. It cannot be that good topics can be removed from general and get their own forum, but bad topics have to stay and make it unattractive.
Ok, enough of the campaign!
