I guess you'd have to wait for Windows 7, and all that multi-touch mumbu stuff. Then you'd have an interactive exeperience by at least dragging your pieces etc.. Sure, you can do it on the iPhone today, but on a smaller scale, and probably with less featuers.. But don't hold your breath, M$ has a long history of trying to clone successful things and failing miserably. But we'll see I guess. Here's hoping.

Power Chess did this in response to Chessmaster 5500, released in 1997. Every version of Chessmaster since then has had this feature, although there have been very few improvements since the initial version because it was already pretty thorough.
