most offensive engine?

Ah, I'm not absolutely certain, but I've heard reports about Glaurung 1.2.1's aggressiveness, supposedly it's more aggressive than Glaurung 2.1.

Hi Ulysses,

For sure Glaurung 1.2.1 was a real gem in terms of customization. It had parameters for aggressiveness as you mention, but also for space and development that are rare for a engine of that level (Pro Deo has some good features in this kind too).

Yes, but increasing the mobility, aggressiveness and/or attractiveness of ProDeo made it a lot weaker. I had to made it play against weaker opposition because otherwise the added playing style leaded to "suicide."

Agreed. However, I miss Gambit Tiger 2 in those listings too!

I agree with that. I didn't test it carefully though, but it seemed to me that those features are detrimental in engine matches as you mention. They can be fun when you play the engine itself however.
