Offline match at any fixed time without incremental time control is difficult for human too. Point is that there's too much lag in playchess that makes engine lose on time often.Ovyron wrote:To ensure 100% that Pablo won't win a game, they have to set up the engine correctly and use incremental time controls.

It's a bit like chopping a leg off a horse and then crowing because you beat it in a race.swami wrote:Offline match at any fixed time without incremental time control is difficult for human too. Yes, when Pablo posts these wins on time on his own computer (as opposed to playing on Lagchess) I'll be impressed.

In Pablo's case,it's much more like cutting off the horse head and claiming to win the raceGraham Banks wrote:It's a bit like chopping a leg off a horse and then crowing because you beat it in a race.swami wrote:Offline match at any fixed time without incremental time control is difficult for human too. _No one can hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you can hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward….

How can this blind squirrel find nuts ? Does he use his hands to feel them or can he sniff them out ? Just wondering..skoony wrote:i agree,

Aren't they sold as "one entity"??? It looks (to me) more of a time management issue in the engine.Graham Banks wrote:And is it the engine's fault that it lost on time or the GUI's fault?Uri Blass wrote: You should look not only in the final position

Rybka played e5 to prevent draw by the 50 move rules and pablo did not care about the quality of his moves when he saw that rybka is going to lose on time.

Hmmmmmmmmm............. fascinating discussion........ I reiterate...... Pablos ideas are a thorn in rybka's side -- time glitch or no....... If it were humans playing the massive rating difference between the combatants would be indicatvie that the lessser player is on to .....something.......
