I think that before the end of this month that I'll have the new CIL Toolkit running reliably under xboard or UCI. If I can get a halfway decent search installed, I'd consider entering it in the event. However, it is rather unlikely that the toolkit would have a playing strength much above 1800 elo. (Note: Symbolic is already entered and will be playing as a separate entity.)

Would any of the other participants object to a relatively weak entrant?

How long does it take ICC to hand over a new account ID?
The registration deadline will be a few days before the tournament.
Probably, Wednesday that week depending on my schedule.

Weak engines are allowed. The idea is to bring everybody together
as much as it is to have a tournament itself.

ICC can be very fast and at other times a week.
As soon as Mike registers, here is the hardware Romi is going to be using.

Core 2 Quad Q6600 (Using 1 core)
64bit windows
Other stuff is irrelevant as Romi uses a fixed amount for hashtables (around 42MB).
So you are gonna operate for Romichess? That's good to hear! Catch up with ya at ICC!

It would sort of hurt me to let someone else operate Romi after I have ran around 15000 test games just for past versions of Romi.

I shall call them tomorrow, and see what they can do..I mean, they gotta know about the ACCA pan-Am computer chess championship right?

Yes, I remember that, that was way before I ever operated Romi on ICC. I am not sure if it has anything to do with the hardware advantage. Romi was not able to score any wins against your deltomatex account last time I played it. We shall meet again.

Wow, I am wooed by Dell's customer service. I called them today and asked them why the estimated delivery date is so far off from the order date. I also explained to them the reason why I need it quickly. I got a girl named Jane on the line, she upgraded my shipping to next day delivery, free of charge..I give their customer service an A+, hopefully the computer will get here in once piece.

Yes, hardware could be an issue, also Dirty is now playing at this account instead of EveAnn, maybe it is a harder opponent for Romichess

Yes i would say you are very luckly Tony.

Had a friend that had a dell last year. He sent it back for repair
4 times in one year. Never did get it fixed. Hope you have better
luck with yours.

The hardware that you are using is about 6 times faster than my measly celeron that runs at half the speed most of the time due to over heating issues.

I am not sure why your friend had to send the computer to dell. Based on my limited warranty, if they cant fix it over the net, then they send a technician to your house and replace any parts that may have gone bad. I wonder how fast the Dell Poweredge server in my office is. Too bad, I am not allowed to install, modify or do anything with the lame Unix system.
