Seems to be a nice improvement over Cyrano 0.5, but still early days in the tourney.
I seem to recall that the CEGT testing originally suggested a 100 elo gain, although I'm unsure if that held.
Cheers, Graham.
Most definitely It is improved by a large margin, I have seen many tests on Cyrano and the leap in elo is confirmed.
It's also holding its own in my tough Amateur Division 2 tournament.

It's great to see newer engines like Cyrano breaking into the upper echelons.

Has the CCRL forum down for the past few days, or is it only me who cannot connect to it?

You should have been able to connect. It's not been down as far as I'm aware.
Cheers, Graham.

Cyrano ahead of Naum, that's cool, can't wait to see what its finish ranking is, expeted better from Frenzee and Baron.

Based on my testing to date, The Baron 2.23 seems to be a little weaker than The Baron 1.8.1.

I'd think so, I will add the latest version tonight to the 101 engines GBT, to see how it fares..compared to the 1.8.1 that's already been tested.

Hi Steve,
ChessGUI uses its own book format and is based on set positions after a defined number of moves.
For example, I set the book end position as after move 12, so all games start from that point.
Harry's "HS Large Remis" book that comes packaged with the program is excellent. I've had no games leave the opening with an unfair position.
Hope this answers your question.
Cheers, Graham.
