Well honestly, I have doubts about DF11 will surpass Naum or Zappa, I hope so, but ELO not is all, an original and attractive style is worth.Tony Thomas wrote:If this is indeed an 80 point improvement from Fritz 11, then here is what we can expect..
According to CCRL 40/40
Deep Fritz 10.1 -----> 2990
Fritz 10 -----> 2885
Improvment from 4 CPU's 105 points..I am expecting these numbers to stay the same or improve..
Rating of Fritz 11 ----> 2963
Expected improvement of Deep Fritz 11 on single cpu = 80=2963+80 = 3043
Expected rating of DF 11 on a quad ---> 3043+ 105 ----> 3148
Not bad I say ....Closer than any engine has gotten so far to Fiska 3.
Curiously when Junior 7 came to chess scene other engines like Fritz and Shredder turn to be more speculative and more and more agressive with each version, like Junior was, this tend remained until Rybka appear, then Shredder, Fritz and Naum they began to play solid chess , and they tried to copy the way Rybka eval. Now that Rybka change its style and is very agressive, what will they (Fritz, Shredder and Naum) do? back to be more agressive, trying to copy the Rybka style again?

The thing that all programmer should undestand is that for the majority of the users (at least I think)it´s worth to have an original style engine, does not matter that Rybka crush it
