I mean, if someone is bleeding to death, then I could feel I can to that, and see the games later. But if it is all in the ballance, I might leave the one who is bleeding to death and attend to the chess.![]()

Sorry I was a bit over reacting. But when critical games are being played, one might be pulled away from major meetings, to see the game in real time. This does not help chess or anything!Terry McCracken wrote:This is ridiculous.S.Taylor wrote:Terry, as to your question if I don't like chess, why am I here? To study chess, it's best to find a time whhen you can concentrate, without underlying stresses.
In the third game, I nearly violated the (Jewish) Sabbath, because it was at its most dramatic point when Shabbos (sabbath) was beginning, and computers have to be switched off. (if not switched off, atleast, I had no way of refreshing it automatically without touching any switch...which is not allowed).

I don't think G-D would mind.

Here's what I did. I didn't worry about the live match feed. Instead, after work, I pulled up the thread posted by Ted Summers (capital fellow!) and read each post one at a time. The suspense was no less for me than in real time, watching the match unfold, stopping to guess the next likely move. In fact, it was more fun, because I didn't have to bite my nails during a long think by Kramnik. I just scrolled to the next post at my convenience.
Most enjoyable.
Shalom.
P.S. Thanks to Ted who is simply the best.
