And so I went to see, what happened if one of these engines seeing white's andvantage against one of these not seeing it would battle it out:

Yes, the pretty Ng8? is answered by Qg4+! and that is why Nf5!! must be played, it will win with care.michiguel wrote:I am not sure, it looks like black has some chances to draw with perpetual. What is White's winning plan?
22.Nf5!! wins. It's an interesting tactical fight that Black loses.
1. Rc7 looks interesting to keep the fire going. I do not think the engines could see the end of it from the starting position.
I thougt Ng8 wins but black has Qg4+! 2. Qxg4 Ne3+

I won't post the analysis as the fellow is playing a corr. game and it wouldn't be fair to the other player.

Really? I think one is allowed to ask for help but I won't give detailed analysis as that is going too far IMO. He's a Canadian expert/master, he can do the rest.michiguel wrote:Really? Re: Need help with analysis
Actually I missed a poweful counter reply by Black, Nf5!? only draws, in fact the position is drawn!Terry McCracken wrote:LaurenceChen wrote:[d] 2q1r2k/5R1p/pp1B2pN/2pnP3/3b3Q/3P4/1P4K1/8 w - - 0 2

If this is a corr. game I think it's wrong to give all the lines.
Offer Draw!
The fastest draw is Rxh7+! Nf5!? is more difficult and Black could go wrong but I think he'll find the drawing move and if you make a mistake with my original suggestion you'll lose.
Black's drawing resource after Nf5!? is Nf4+ Qxf4 gf Qh6 and either Qa8 or c6+ forces a perpetual.
If Black makes a mistake and checks with the Rook on g8 first then he loses, but I wouldn't bet on that, it's only a trap and I doubt your opponet will fall for it.
