thanks for this. Do you plan to do also some performance comparison between your implementation and the stock one ?

In case your works turns out in a better speed I would be very interested to digg it further end eventually add to Stockfish.

Shrinking table size _could_ have a sense but on today hardware you really cannot guess anything related performance without testing directly.
