Totaly agreed here and I stick to the same operation system....
Vista is full of bugs and causes more headache than stability....

Same here. I use XP x64 since late 2005 and still prefer it. Windows7 is what Vista should have been in the first place.

Actually it just made me sick, nothing else.

Off topic but the thread is mildly off topic already ...

Bob -- I just love your .sig !!! I wish I had come up with that!
Wasn't my .sig, was just a direct quote from Linux at a Comdex meeting or something similar, I think when windows 2000 was "rolled out" and crashed more than once while Darth Vader was giving a demo. :)

I use both XP x64 and Vista x64. I think Vista is perfectly fine, I prefer it, most negative comments about it are just wrong. And Windows 7 - well, it looks and feels pretty much like Vista. So those who don't like Vista, well they may get a rude shock with W7 because it is *very* similar. No matter, I understand that XP security updates will be provided through to 2014, so by then Windows 8 will probably be out for those who don't like Vista and W7 :)

Dear experts,

will it come with a downgrade option?

- downgrade to Vista ?
- downgrade to XP ?
- downgrade to DOS ?

Kind regards

OK, Linux or the MAC is for you then :)
And then, half your chess programs won't run at all.

Reality is, if you are talking about a box used solely for chess, and don't wish to connect to the internet, XP will last you for as long as you need it to.
I can see why businesses are reluctant to move off it, we still use it, and it does the job incredibly well. Given the costs to move to Vista or W7, the cost/benefit analysis is challenging.

That many really? I haven't found one that won't run on my Mac yet.

Hey, thanks for the warning!

Here is a funny video of "Windows 7" being demoed to people on the streets of Sydney...
