Regardless of the other comments, there is _no_ anti-virus that does not consume resources. They consume a ton of memory for starters, to keep the various virus/spyware signatures handy. They run at all sorts of unexpected times, and when they run, they will cause paging if they have been swapped out due to inactivity.Kempelen wrote:I use my main computer to surft the web, read email and typical personal tasks. I used to had a on-demand antivirus, I mean, only running when I executed it and dont let it to be resident.... but after a bad experience I am considering a normal instalation. What are your experiences with antivirus?
