Well, if he does not want to look on the source that's his problem, he can use his own skull instead...

hi, well, maybe I precipited answering the way I answered. But certainly he may fell its competition may get more equal to him.

Rybka has been at the top for a lot of time already. I wonder if robbolito will be at the very top (maybe together with some rybka) for quite some time too.

Hi Jouni,
I will not test this engine as I think it is not legal and it can kill our hobby computerchess....
Honest question, as I am in a dilema as you are. Will 'not testing' Robbo change anything you fear?

Why do you think it is the case with Robbo....
Maybe the top programmers gave up working on their engine because of Rybka, so it is time for them to come back. I know at least one who has done that, and that's Mr Naumov.
So no reason for you not to test the engine. In fact I think you should.

BTW: who is that top programmer if I may ask?

Chesstiger ?, when was the last time Mr Theron released a new version of his program ? In fact I think he retired a long time ago...
I think that you are wrong about Naumov.

I did not read about Naum5(that means a big jump) and Naum4.1(that means a small improvement relative to Naum4) is something that we could expect even before ippolit and robbolito(and it was enough to read Naumov for this expectation instead of reading some people that distorted his words and claimed that he is out of computer chess(based on my memory he only said at some point after Naum4 that he is not going to work full time on Naum and he also said that he is going to release free update of Naum4.1 for his customers in case that he does not get a big improvement).
