Maybe it wouldn't irritate me so much if the title included "New Edition (private)".

Then why can't you wait to release the results until then, or make a title where it's clear it is private so that people won't waste their time?slobo wrote:Yes, you are wrong. Re: Robbolito 0.09 New Edition VS Rybka 3
Here are more games of this new test engine.
This engine is the result of the cooperation of hundreds of people working together to produce something new. While on this forum people were fighting if this engine was a clone or not other peole have worked together to make this engine stronger.Main work was done by Norman Schmidt and this version was the fine tunning done by Sentinel. There are also to many who for the lack of space could not be mentioned.
When Robbolito engine was anounced it was banned on this forum.
I wish that at that time other programmers wanted to use their intelectual curiosity to help develop this engine and at the same time use the ideas to help further chess engine development.
Well, the progress was not stoped. This engine proves it.
In 50 games playing the strongest engines on Dual Core lost only 3 games.Even Rybka on 4 cores could not win against the engine on 1 core as Damir has shown.
Maybe the recent developments will open new interest in this engine and new work will not only help Robbolito but also development of new ideas that could be implemented for the benefit of other chess engines.Just like Donn Corbet has done for new Stockfish.
For those who want to review the games are also included.

Well, next time I suppose it will be best not to mention of any other private version, we Robbo testers receive, that way people like '' you'' won't be offended. BTW, are you a girl, since I don't mention of saying anything which might have offended you....bnemias wrote:Am I wrong to consider this rude? Maybe it wouldn't irritate me so much if the title included "New Edition (private)".

You miss my point. I'm not so offended that it's private. What bothers me is that the thread title will draw people in who had they known it was private, wouldn't have bothered.Damir wrote:Well, next time I suppose it will be best not to mention of any other private version, we Robbo testers receive, that way people like '' you'' won't be offended.
I have my own private versions. Until now, I have never mentioned them, and I do so now only to illustrate that if I had said anything, all it would do is generate irrelevant discussion.

All I am saying is that until many more games are played, those results are a farce... and the poor guys that boast them, simply nekulturnykingliveson wrote:You are missing the big picture.

Is there much diff. between Robb g3 and the latest version.Damir wrote:Well, next time I suppose it will be best not to mention of any other private version, we Robbo testers receive, that way people like '' you'' won't be offended. Please learn a bit of statistics:
on 50 games (assuming about 50% draws), standard deviation error is 2.5, or 5%
so a 55-45 outcome for Rybka could occur here anytime!
He is missing nothing.
It is not rybka's fault that robbo does not know to use 4 cores.
It is also known that rybka on 1 core is weaker than robbo on 1 core at least in blitz so I am not impressed by the results and it is even not clear to me that the new robbo is better than the old robbo.

lol, maybe he is using a weakened pirated fake no good purposely mis-labeled version of Rybka.Uri Blass wrote:Nokingliveson wrote:You are missing the big picture.
