AFAIK.. there has never been a "LIFETIME BAN" (some accounts are closed forever because they are multiple accounts )

for my current and past term as moderator we have ended all bans ongoing at the time we took over as mods
and this has been the general rule that all new teams have followed
however this rule is not set in stone and i would imagine the new team will consider this issue amongst others as soon as they take over

I am offended by this lax stance on banning. If I am elected, I will ban anyone who has ever posted anything the least bit annoying to me which will probably include my fellow moderators. I will rule forever, banning anyone that calls for new elections. I will periodically provide a post-office box number that people can send "gifts" to in order to persuade me to temporarily lifting their bans, but should they violate my "no-annoyance" policy they will promptly be re-banned. More detail regarding my policies will be posted should I ever actually be nominated.

Don't forget to ban some by random when your reign begins! Also do not forget to ban two or three every month for:

- posting tournament results
- reporting new so called "chess engines"
- all of them who claim to have seen something known as a "lemming"

And the answer is yes, my contributions are great.

What isult ? If he wants him back he can do it in his own forum, I can see no insult besides you calling me "DOG"

Not at all.
Not all who disagree with us are "dogs".
"Dogs" are only those who disagree with us in an aggressive and offensive way.

For example, when Christopher Conkie says to those who disagree with him that he would "eat them alive", he is assuming a speaking dog's behaviour and he, himself, choses to be a dog, for a moment.

I can't see Chris in this thread. Just this guy calling me a dog. Maybe that's the way of talking in his entourage ? This is not my language.

The Exactachess forum is much more civilized anyway so it can't be Chris, if you know what I mean.

And it's not about quantity but quality...

I am completely neutral regarding all this Robbo matter (of course even a blind can see a link between this request and the fact that Norman helps with Robbo development), but I am amazed of how, even in a small and focused comunity like this, politics matters assume great relevance.

My neutral opinion (take it as an external observer) is that this step was a bit risky on your side given that we are in election period and if the "wrong" mods are elected I foreseen very bad times for Robbo on this forum. This request could irritate some until now undecided people and push them to vote in one direction instead of the other and can be a boomerang for you. If I were in you I'd had wait _after_ elections to come up with this point.

Even Rolf is calming down in this period, perhaps he has more political sensibility then you ;-)
?
If I am not very mistaken, the ban had zero to do with Robbo, but
with all illegal, immoral and unethic behaviour happened already before,
including the attempt to _sell_ a clone to the people. And at one point
it was all too much...(third or fourth attempt of silently cloning and hiding
the origin of base sources and naming himself the solely author)

He did not call you a dog. If you read with attention his post you'll note that he simply described his own feelings and the situation, using an allegory.

What happend after that?

You came with your interpretation of his allegory, that "dog was you". Well, some would agree with your interpretation, others would not, and there would also be people with neutral oppinion about the subject.

You did nor get Marco's idea.
Marco was right: the idea of asking for restauration of Norman's membership is directly linked with his effort to make Ippolit working.
