Thanks, it should be stable, I played thousands of games per month for testing and it never (not lately at least) failed me. If you get any problems I would certainly like to hear about them, but you wont :)

Thanks again,
Hi again,

Ray has done some testing for me and I can confirm that MatMoi is stable.
However, you might need to improve it before it is likely to survive in my Amateur Division 8. At present, I'd pick it as odds on to finish bottom.
If it's too weak and finishes too far below Surprise on the rating list, it is likely to be excluded from future testing until it can compete. Roce and Dabbaba suffered this fate.

Cheers,
Graham.

Hi Graham,

I'm actively improving MatMoi since Feburary, if it is not strong enough for you to test it now, that's fine. Maybe it will be in 6 month or a year.

That being said, I would think that it is definitely stronger than Surprise, at least at fast time control. I'm currently running a series of 12 games match at 40/40 between the private version of MatMoi and Monarch, Prophet, Matheus, Matant, Heracles and Sharper and up to now it tends to confirm the fast time control tests.

In all case, let me know how it goes.

That wouldn't surprise me :-) Please, guys, let me keep the last rank in that list for a while ...

I just want to specify that I didn't mean any offense :)

No problem, Mathieu! :-) Not for the tiniest moment did I feel so.

I already have enough distance to my old engine Surprise to be able to laugh about it, and I really have no problem with that "last rank", which is also since I know that there will most probably be no more updates to Surprise in the future. A new engine "Knockout" is under construction but will take some more time.

Good luck for your engine!

Looking forward to your results Mathieu. At present, I still plan to include the latest MatMoi in my tournament so that we can see how it stacks up. :)
