I am not aware someone tried multi-cut in crafty, but Implementation of Multi-ProbCut in Chess (pdf) by Albert Xin Jiang.

I tried this with Crafty myself. The memory is fuzzy about that, but I seem to recall that I concluded that NM was not a good mix with MC. However, this was before we started with the super-accurate testing, so I do not recall any specifics about whether it hurt, or just didn't help...

Thanks! And little off-topic, but how about FH reductions. I'm starting to sound like one-song juke-box, but that's another failure of mine.

Not tested by me, yet. At the moment, my intent is to either beat SE into submission so that it works, or leave enough notes for myself that I won't revisit this for several years. :)
