Would you pay 65 euro for it?
I started wondering if I'd pay € 65. Well, I'd pay more to get a GUI which has some user-oriented tools, such middlegame analysis, tree building from a position, and some strong engines which are compatible with those trees. I mean, engines which can use these trees (or which can import them) as a middlegame learning files.

Jouni
If many people in the community will keep insulting him, asking ridiculous things, then again insulting, I think it would be natural from him to ask money for his work, so these inventing the wheel for 5-20 years people would shut up. It seems that the only criteria by which Vas didn't receive such a treatment is that he obfuscated the output and went commercial.

Both of them should be spared from insults.

You might be able to find a happy medium. Instead of selling for 65....maybe just charge 20? You still make a nice penny for your work and it would be very affordable even for low budgets. A nice blend between free and over priced commercial prices? Cheers :)

Come on John a workmen is worth his hirer, a lot of time, energy, and years of formal education have gone into these engines they are worth paying for. Why should Stephen work for free? For this reason I think we should all donate something perhaps Robert would consider not letting it go comercial

Personally I think Robert Houdart is concerned about legal issues considering he admits he got allot of ideas from clones that were taken from Rybka. The reason why I don’t have a problem with this is because everyone has taken some idea from their predecessor in the same way Rybka got ideas from shredder and Fruit.
