Sorry, I misread one of the posts. I thought the problem was that the second time control was a different number of moves than the first. I am testing the fix now.

I've found that leaving the book file in the folder seems to solve the problem for some strange reason, but you can't change it to a 0kb file.

Indeed, I've had several games go into a third time control without any issues since keeping the book file in the engine folder. Just have to hope that it doesn't get used because in my testing I use generic books.

The engine will only use its own book if that book contains a "good" move outside of your generic book.
